The chemo lab

Janet's Mom is a bit under the weather today. She ran a fever last night and the doctor wanted to see her. Everyone was out of town so I picked her up and to her to Dr. Patel. He is a cool guy. Her white count was up and he wanted to give her IV antibiotics. They do this at the chemotherapy lab. It is kind of cool. There is a big glassed in room with about 30 reclines. All of the chairs were full with folks having various conceding of drugs being administered. Most of the sessions last several hours. Some people slept, other read or did knitting or other crafts. Some just sat quietly. I found myself wondering what the thought about and I thought about my Mom.

The staff was very upbeat and helpful. The waiting room has bred a small community. Everyone seemed to know everyone weasels. They talked about their loved ones having treatments, kept up with how many days they had left in their cycle.
